First anniversary: school supplies and mentorship for Annie Walsh Memorial School

Students living in Freetown face constraints on access to mentorship programmes that help them choose their career pathways — the kind of support that helps them learn new skills and make the right decisions at the moments that matter most.
Against this backdrop, and to mark its first anniversary, the Francis Koroma Foundation visited Annie Walsh Memorial Secondary School, providing academic materials and mentorship services for its students.
The first beneficiary emphasised the importance of mentorship through her studies, describing how such an advantage shapes a student's decision-making and mental perception while studying toward a dream career.
The second beneficiary shared her views on mentorship, addressing its importance to personal development and its role in providing a sense of optimism about what is possible.
Donations of school materials remove an immediate obstacle; mentorship removes a longer one. The visit to Annie Walsh — one of Sierra Leone's oldest girls' schools — brought both, and set the pattern for the school visits and supply drives the foundation has run since.
