A college fair to widen access to higher education
College fairs help boost the enrollment of young men and women of color into a diverse range of colleges.
The Francis Koroma Foundation supported a college fair designed to widen access to higher education — connecting students from public high schools with admissions representatives from a diverse range of colleges and universities.
For many young people, the gap between aspiration and enrollment is one of information and encouragement: knowing which doors exist, and believing they are open. College fairs help close that gap.
By bringing colleges directly to students, the event aimed to boost the enrollment of young men and women of color and to make the path to higher education feel within reach.
It is one more way the foundation works to ensure that talent — wherever it is found — has the opportunity to flourish.
