Volunteer highlight: Prince Kevin Ogoo wins the MEA Business Award 2024

The MEA Business Awards 2024 recognised Prince Kevin Ogoo, a volunteer from the Francis Koroma Foundation, as the youngest winner of the United Kingdom MEA Business Award for his agricultural startup Kev World International — representing Sierra Leone, and Africa at large.

He expressed his pride in receiving recognition among other outstanding individuals shaping the region's business landscape. The MEA Business Awards and African Excellence Awards celebrate the achievements of businesses and individuals across the Middle East and Africa, recognising outstanding performance in industries from finance and technology to energy and healthcare. Awardees gain increased visibility and a boost to their brand reputation, and the programmes connect the wider business community across the region.

Prince Kevin Ogoo is a student at the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM-USL) pursuing a BSc in Public Sector Management. He founded and serves as CEO of the AgTech company Kev World International, and held a volunteer position at the Francis Koroma Foundation.

He is an advocate for the Youth and Children's Advocacy Panel in Sierra Leone, and an ambassador for the Harvard Business School, the World Literacy Foundation, Savvy Fellow, Young Human Rights Change Makers, ICTforAgtech and Youth Opportunity. Since 2020, when he transitioned into social entrepreneurship, his diligence has been repeatedly acknowledged.

He placed 29th of 40 on SDG Startups and Funds in Sweden's 2022 list of the greatest individuals in Sierra Leone, and has been recognised by the Ideal Farmers Youths Recognition Award 2024, I-Train Africa, the Harvard University Crossroads Emerging Leaders Program, Enterprise Adventure and the Young Leaders Award. Alongside his international speaking engagements, he has participated in numerous entrepreneurship competitions.
